Dure-gol Village Seonang-je ritual service consoling the soul of Geumseong Daegun

There is Dure-gol Village Seonang-dang building next to the Sanshin-gak building for mountain spirit at Sunheungbu. After King Sejo took away the crown from nephew King Danjong in early Joseon dynasty, Geumseong Daegun conspired to recover the crown for King Danjong. But the plan leaked and both King Danjong and Geumseong Daegun were executed. Sunheungbu was closed and many residents were killed. The place became a place of big regret. After Sunheungbu was recovered, Geumseong Daegun appeared in the dream of an old man in the village. He asked him to recover a stone with his blood at the waterfront. Village residents enshrined it as Bokbawu and gave ritual service. In late Joseon dynasty, when Japanese people interfered with the ritual service, Geumseong Daegun appeared again and asked the residents to move him to Dure-gol Village. So, the residents enshrined the ‘blood stone’ at Dure-gol Village Seonang-dang building. The county office is giving ritual service every full moon of lunar January.
